Why can I hear the music, but not any sound effects?

Answer
Windows must have the Audio Compression component of Multimedia installed in order for the sound to work in FFVIII.
[윈도우즈는 FF8에서 동작할 멀티미디어의 오디오 압축 구성요소가 필요합니다.]


Go to Start--> Settings--> Control Panels--> Add/Remove Programs--> Windows Setup. Double-click on Multimedia.
[시작-->설정-->제어판-->프로그램 추가/제거-->Windows Setup(?)으로 가셔서 멀티미디어를 더블 클릭하세요.]


If Audio Compression is not checked, check it and click on OK. Windows may prompt you to insert their Windows instalI CD. Do this, and follow any directions that Windows gives to complete the installation.


You may also want to try unchecking Audio Compression, applying the changes, and rechecking it.



Also make sure that they you are runnig the latest drivers for the sound card.
